Mickel Motorsport Return to UK National Legends Championship to Defend Three Major Titles in 2017
Press Release 15th March 2017
Mickel Motorsport will kick off the 2017 Championship at Brands Hatch for the opening rounds of the UK National Legends Championship, looking to defend its three titles won in 2016.
The driver line up remains unchanged with John Mickel, from Horsham, driving his bright orange #4 K-Seal sponsored 1934 Ford replica Legend packing a massive punch under the hood with a 1250cc Yamaha engine. John collected the overall UK championship title last year and went on to finish 4th in the World Series in the USA. This was only bettered by his previous year of racing in 2015 when he collected both UK and World Titles.
Mike Schlup will be keen to get back on track to re-enforce his quickly learnt skills after collecting a trophy in the Team Championship last year. Mike will be driving the second K-Seal car, #3, but with an update in livery colours for this season.
Paul Simmons is keen to regain his Masters Championship title for 2017 after having his best year to date in 2016 and will be back driving the Baileigh Industrial #51 car.
Mickel Motorsport is receiving the ongoing support from many more partners including MVIS, Lucas Oils, PVL, Oakland security, Cataclean, Jamie Davidson Scrap Metal, Ibach Springs, K & N Air Filters, Washington Coachworks, PBL, ME3D and S & N Tyres.
John Mickel, MD of Mickel Motorsport said “I am very excited to be involved in another year with the UK National Legends Championship. As MD, I feel very proud to have maintained so many loyal sponsors over many years and I am delighted to have forged new relationships and to be bringing new names onto the racing scene for 2017, including two great companies, JLM and Netsense”.
