Mickel Adds to his Championship Lead at Anglesey
John Mickel and the crew travelled to Anglesey, North Wales last weekend for rounds 8 & 9 of the 2015 UK Legends Championship schedule.
Despite not finishing in the top five of every race, Mickel still adds to his Championship lead.
Saturday 11 July - Round 8
Race 1
With a grid position of 2nd and a front row seat for the first race, it seemed that there was not too much overtaking required by John in his #4 K-Seal Legend. He rapidly took the lead but this lead was soon taken away as the 91 car tried an overtaking manoeuvre on the outside of John, when there wasn't quite the space to do so. He hit John's front wheel, momentarily putting John back into second place, but not remaining there for very long. John soon took the lead again and remained there to take his first win of the day.

John fought his way through the field from the first moment and his stunning race craft got him as high as 3rd place where the leaders were too far ahead for John to catch.

Race 3 - Final
With the largest amalgamation of points on the day so far, John started the final of the day from the rear of the grid. The weather had changed and persistent rain caused John some problems with grip coupled together with some engine niggles resulted in a 13th place finish for John. Despite this, John still managed to pick up enough points to put him in 2nd position on the day.

Sunday 12 July - Round 9
Race 1
Despite the crew's hard efforts overnight to remedy Joh's engine gremlins, the #4 K-Seal Legend was still down on power which meant that John struggled his way into 5th place by the end of the race. The latest inspection of the engine showed that a snapped head bolt and head gasket failure was the reason behind the poor engine performance. The determined crew set to work to fix the problems in time for race 2.

Race 2
The K-Seal #4 Legend was on fine form once again and by the end of lap two, John was the race leader and despite the safety car making an appearance for four laps, and John being overtaken for a moment, John quickly regained his lead and held on to take his second win of the weekend.

Race 3 - Final
John was quick at the start to begin to make his way through the pack of buzzing Legends but contact from behind caused him to spin before the end of the first lap, putting him back at the rear of the field. Having gained his composure, John took the #4 K-Seal Legend on a fast drive to try and regain a high points earning position before the finish. John soon found himself mixing with the Championship contenders and a great battle commenced. As the trio battled through the traffic, John finally managed to finish in a well-earned 6th place and take 2nd place overall on the day. His consistency in the points has resulted in his Championship lead being extended.
